You should be counted as one greatly blessed these days if you are happy with the job you're doing. The current recession and crisis rampant throughout the globe today have made true happiness a rare species to be seen only occasionally. A great majority of people, I don't trust any statistics for the exact count, don't have any job at all, not to question their level of satisfaction with it.
But sometimes, there are situations when you start feeling deprived,
hurt and lonely at your workplace, even if you're among the blessed ones
who are totally satisfied with their profession and placement.
Sometimes this is so right from the start of your job. You're so
confused about what is happening to you that you can neither understand
its causes, nor attempt to get rid of the predicament.
I am not going to enlist the causes of such bad times here today. If
you're concerned enough to reach this page, I'm sure you have enough
wisdom to sort out the reason for your problem. All I intend to discuss
with you today is the tips to keep everything as cool as you could ever
dream.
Your workplace is not somewhere in the void. It is a real world place
where people like you join you to learn and earn for their life just
like you. They too are looking for what you seek. They too have similar
wishes, desires, passions, goals, and may be achievements. All you need
to do is to understand what would make you happy in your workplace, and
do the same for your boss, colleagues and subordinates.
Let me suggest the five most important tips to let you grasp the strategy and to make this actually work for you. Here we go!
TIP #1. TOLERATE
We work and have problems with humans, not robots. Robots may not do the
blunders humans do, but you can't enjoy a relation with them either. We
enjoy working with humans. We get and value appreciation from them, not
robots. And the price is to tolerate each other!
TIP #2. LISTEN
Listen carefully when your colleague talks to you about any professional
matters. I guess more than 50% of the issues wouldn't even arise if
people would be more attentive to each other at work.
TIP #3. FOLLOW YOUR AUTHORITIES
Boss may be wrong, but he/she would also be responsible for his/her
action ultimately. It's not good if you look for a solution in
rebellion. This only worsens the situation. Follow your boss, and try to
convince him or her of what he/she is wrong at. If they're not
convinced, let them wait for their results. And rest assured they will
have the consequences without you playing any role whatsoever.
TIP #4. WAIT AND SEE
Impatience is always bad. If there's something serious gone wrong in the
office environment, don't get anxious. Analyze the situation calmly.
Give everyone, including yourself, time to understand so that you could
actually find a solution.
TIP #5. BEGIN AND END WITH A SMILE
Smile is the greatest influence one can cast on others. I wonder how
powerful it is. You'll only be persuaded thoroughly when you try it
yourself. Go with it!
Have a nice time. Stay blessed, and smiling! :)
